Now I’m really not a fan of kohl or eyeliner pencils. I find them very tedious to work with as they tend to be less forgiving with correcting errors. I normally like a very sharp eyeliner look so liquid or gel eyeliners really do it for me. But for £5 a pop, GOSH’s Velvet Touch eyeliners may just have converted me to have more husky pencilled eyes rather than a clean and neat winged liquid eyeliner.
These eyeliners are exactly what they’re called, ‘velvet touch’. They are super soft and incredibly pigmented. GOSH’s design and products always look very high-end for a bargain price and these look like GOSH borrowed MAC’s design. They also come in a huge range of colours, from your simple blacks and browns to more outrageous colours like ‘Pretty Petrol’.
I started off with one GOSH Velvet Touch eyeliner and I love the feel and finish and versatility of these eyeliner pencils so much, I decided to get 3 more.
The GOSH Velvet Touch eyeliners that I own (from L-R) are:
- Hypnotic Grey : A dark grey based slightly shimmery shade. It has an “almost black but faded” effect if you fancy a faded winged eyeliner.
- Truly Brown : A matte-creme natural brown shade. Brown eyeliners like these have to be a staple in your collection.
- Metallic Brass : A grey-brown based shade with lots of shimmery gold tones to it. This is probably my favourite one because it’s wearable at day at night.
- Renaissance Gold : A very shimmery gold shade. It’s not very wearable by itself but I did an ombre post on it not long ago.
These swatches are very true to colour and I think you can really tell why ‘Metallic Brass’ is my favourite of them all! I decided against getting the black eyeliner in this range because I already have Rimmel’s black kohl pencil which I think is great and because I have a whole other range of black eyeliners. I just fancied something different.
If you happen to pop into a Superdrug at any point, be sure to swatch these yourself and you’ll realise just how amazing these are!
